Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • ⅛ cup spaghetti noodles, broken into ¼-inch pieces
  • 1½ tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add rice and broken noodles, stirring frequently until lightly golden.
  3. Dissolve chicken bouillon in water and pour into the pan.
  4. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low, cover, and simmer for 40 minutes.
  5. Fluff with a fork before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add diced onions or a bay leaf while simmering.
  • Substitute vegetable bouillon for a vegetarian version.
  • Toasting the noodles and rice longer will create a nuttier flavor.
